Easter my way

After blabbing about the kids and their chocolate massacre, I must say I also had quite the treat. Every so often, the Masters is held on Easter weekend. As a result, I was able to watch an un-godly amount of golf this weekend and am very grateful for that. It was a top 10 Masters no doubt, but it didn’t follow the template of those traditional classics that your old man always talks about. It involved a handful of quirky, non-conforming upstarts that your old man would grumble at and say “what the hell is going on with the game these days? Doesn’t anybody have any respect for the game?”.

Nonetheless, this year marks the year the majors have been recasted. Flamboyant, loud, in your face types of guys. There is no way Tiger can possibly be expected to be the default winner anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t win another major. In fact, with the talent and level of parity in the league, it may be quite some time before we see somebody win multiple majors in their careers.

When I read this 5, 10 years from now, remember to go out and find a replay of the gap wedge shot Bubba Watson made on the 2nd playoff hole to win the tournament. If that isn’t the craziest shot I’ve ever seen in the most intense of situations. I see big things for “Bubba” (my dad just rolled over in his grave).
