De-stressing the morning routine

With Christien now liking to go to pre-school (it only took 1 1/2 months!) it takes the edge off of the mornings. It doesn’t feel like a death march. Now if we could only stop the sibling fights, the constant distractions and the general butt-dragging that goes on trying to get the kids out the door. Then I won’t feel the immediate urge to hide under the covers when the alarm goes off.

3100 nativity scenes on the wall…..

I went up to Walkerton with the kids to visit my Mom on Saturday. Out of bizarre curiousity, we decided to go to the Mormon church to see this supposedly famous display of 3100+ nativity scenes that are donated by peoples from around the world (although most are from within 200kms of the area).

The initial reaction is overwhelming, followed within 2 minutes of monotony and repetition. Even the kids were ground down by the ‘more of the sameness’.

There were definitely some very nice and unique nativity scenes, but let’s just say these sort of things don’t live up to the billing.

New hosting site

The old hosting site I was using decided to shut it down leaving me 1 month to move over. Thanks to some good tips from Alex, I cut over to a new hosting site last Monday and it has gone as well as hoped. So I’m alive on a different planet and ready to go.

First thing’s first. Need to figure out:
1) A cool URL for my fantasy advice site
2) A framework to use. What’s the best one for discussion groups / forums that includes account user management and *potentially* commercial tie-ins to paypal, visa, etc. etc.?
