Most of the books are printed in Canada and shipped directly to Canadian distribution warehouses–the publishers never actually take physical possession. If anything the shipping and warehousing costs should be less on a book sold in Canada.
And the idea that the Canadian distributors cost would be an extra over the US price implies that you think that some US distributor is getting paid on Canadian sales, as well as a Canadian company. Pfui, says I.

Why are any of you still buying books anyway? Everything is electronic and if it isn’t it should be. You can always read with your laptop in bed too you know. Get into the early 21st century man!
