1st rd of the playoffs

It’s like being in the trenches…all is quiet as we wait for the blitzkrieg tomorrow at 1pm. I don’t think I have a chance with my big boys down for the season. But stranger things have happened and I’ve been on both sides of that situation.

De-stressing the morning routine

With Christien now liking to go to pre-school (it only took 1 1/2 months!) it takes the edge off of the mornings. It doesn’t feel like a death march. Now if we could only stop the sibling fights, the constant distractions and the general butt-dragging that goes on trying to get the kids out the… Read More »

3100 nativity scenes on the wall…..

I went up to Walkerton with the kids to visit my Mom on Saturday. Out of bizarre curiousity, we decided to go to the Mormon church to see this supposedly famous display of 3100+ nativity scenes that are donated by peoples from around the world (although most are from within 200kms of the area). The… Read More »

New hosting site

The old hosting site I was using decided to shut it down leaving me 1 month to move over. Thanks to some good tips from Alex, I cut over to a new hosting site last Monday and it has gone as well as hoped. So I’m alive on a different planet and ready to go.… Read More »

Golf vacation coming up

Got a golf vacation planned again this time of year in Wiarton. Naturally the weather last weekend for Thanksgiving was 25-26 celcius. This weekend? Not so good. Anyway, we’re staying at Pat’s cottage so it’ll be fun regardless.

Star Wars on Blu-Ray!

Got it on my 10th wedding anniversary vacation to WalMart. Yes, you read this correctly! It just so happened that the WalMart was very close to Deerhurst Resort and since I wasn’t golfing, or at the spa or having some drinks on the patio, or canoe-ing or sitting around a fire or at a show… Read More »

Truckin’

A nod to my pal Chris McLaren. Christien is in love with that Grateful Dead Classic. Plus he’s a Star Wars fan. Plus he has a tinge of red in his hair. Hmmmmm…..

Summer ends abruptly

But not without a bang. Last Sat was the HOTTEST day I can remember in years. And muggy. That would explain how that wicked wind and rain storm rushed through the berg ending almost before it began. But leaving a lot of trees down and dropping flash flood levels of rain. Fortunately our road had… Read More »

Olivia has retired the training wheels.

A HUGE milestone!! Counter to common belief, it is not a 1st time and you’ll get it sort of thing. This has been a month long work in progress. It started with Olivia asking to have her training wheels removed early August. Then it was several nights of 5-10 minute sessions with Dad running down… Read More »
