driest summer I’ve golfed in a long time

In the spring, in the fall, you only imagine how you possibly hit driver, 9 iron into a 500yd par 5. It’s days like today that I need to remember. It is so hot, and so dry that it’s the perfect storm: I’m the most flexible I can be, the ball compression is matched perfectly for the heat, and the course is dry, dry, dry.

On #9 Goose Run at Conestoga, I hit a drive 330 yds and then proceeded to hit a 9 iron 170 into the green. Unfortunately I parred, but I haven’t hit Driver/9iron on a legitimate par 5 in a long time.

I ended up 44/38 Goose/Moors which was very disappointing considering how well I was striking the ball. Just wasn’t putting well and the greens were not holding anything.

It is sooooo hot! This week we’re seeing highs of 35s all week with humidity topping 40’s. I can’t ever remember seeing my lawn this dry. And after one of the wettest and coldest springs I can ever remember.
