I wasn't planning on being the little guy though ;) Just the not so little guy who has a good techhie job with one of those Assurance firms.

Seriously, I agree with the fortune of living in Canada. I have been mulling over trying to convince Sonia to move to Calgary though. Won't solve the federal tax issue but would sure be more attractive provincially. Given that Ralph Klein's days are numbered it's even more attractive.

Sure, no tax, but you will still end up getting screwed.

These places have their benefits, but generally have poor education, healthcare, roads, etc... so the government is screwing you by not building decent infrastructure in the country.
If they do have these things, they cost WAY more than they do here. How much does a home cost in Bermuda (answer: a lot)? $4.00 for a loaf of bread...once again the little guy is screwed.

You live in Canada because:
1) The great beer
2) Hockey
3) We can look down on (on a map at least) the U.S and make fun of them
4) There is no country whose government and tax system doesn't screw the little guy somehow.
5) Did I mention the great beer?

Because you know that $550 goes into useful things like education and health care, and not to support a trillion dollar war in Iraq?
